The Haitian-American Leadership Council (HALEC) would like to welcome you as a new member.
HALEC’s mission is two fold: 1) to unify the Haitian-American votes and make a difference in the Haitian community here in the US; and 2) to positively influence the policy of the US toward Haiti. This mission cannot be materialized without your participation. A couple centuries ago, our forefathers in Haiti recognized the power of uniting for a common cause thus, they added “ L’union fait la force” to our flag.
If you share the HALEC’s mission, help us spread the message to your friends and family members. We strongly believe if you communicate this message to someone, who in turn communicates it to someone else and so on, we will reach the entire Haitian community in the US.
Political empowerment of the Haitian community does not consist of just participating in the presidential or federal election. It also includes participation in your city and state elections. For example, a mayor or a city council in your town may have more impact in your daily life, your children’s school, your property taxes and other government general services than the president.
